JDS participates in the Annual Corporate Games 25-27 November 2011.
Listed as one of the top 50 best places to work in Australia by BRW, JDS is constantly engaging its people to develop skills, teamwork, and a unique sense of corporate spirit. Participating in the annual Australian Corporate Games for the fourth year running was no different, with the upside contributing to a well deserving charity, the Epilepsy Foundation.

JDS Australia’s work at RMIT, performance testing the MyResults (student results) website, has been written up by HP as a case study.
Twice a year, RMIT publishes course results for its students on the student portal of the university’s website. These two days in the calendar generate the highest volume of website traffic. With such huge spikes experienced in a 24-hour period, RMIT’s student portal was being saturated and not handling the volume effectively. This resulted in poor performance and students reported difficulties in accessing their results in a timely fashion.

JDS Australia has been successful in their bid to be included in the Victorian Government eServices panel from the 1st July 2011 through to the 30th June 2014. Under this arrangement with the Victorian Government, JDS will be able to provide a broad range of valuable services ranging including performance testing, quality assurance, application monitoring of performance and availability.

JDS Australia’s work at Flash Group, performance testing the Global Corporate Challenge website, has been written up by HP as a case study.
In 2010, the GCC website experienced a peak load of 8,403 visitors in the first hour after launch, and over 130,000 visitors on the first two days. Testing with LoadRunner before launch helped Flash achieve 99.99 percent uptime for the duration of the 16-week Global Corporate Challenge.

The annual Australian Corporate Games event is held over the third weekend in November in Melbourne, where over 900 participants from 300 plus organisations partake in 20 various sports. With profits going towards the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria, the event which builds team spirit, improves fitness and generates a sense of company pride, was once again a resounding success in 2010.

Melbourne 24 June 2010 – Today BRW released their 2010 list of the 50 Best Places to Work which included JDS Australia. The list of top organisations was based off the results of the Great Place to Work survey conducted in April 2010. The survey measured companies against five main benchmarks: credibility, fairness, camaraderie, pride and respect, with a total 160 companies surveyed.

JDS Australia recently took part in the Great Place to Work survey. This is run by the Great Place to Work Institute Australia which is dedicated to building a better society by helping organisations to transform their workplaces. Their work is based on the major findings of more than 20 years of research – that trust between managers and employees is the primary defining characteristic of the best workplaces. This is a principle that JDS recognises and constantly strives to achieve.

On the 21st of November, JDS Australia joined over 8,000 participants from 300 organisations in this year’s Australian Corporate Games. This year represented our strongest involvement yet, fielding a team of 23 employees. JDS competed in the 10km Run and the Open Men’s touch football.

JDS is pleased to have helped Superpartners, the largest superannuation administrator in Australia, use HP Business Availability Center to optimise the availability, performance and effectiveness of its business services and applications.

On Saturday 22nd November, Melbourne hosted 11,200 people representing 354 organisations across 20 sports in the Australian Corporate Games. For the first time, JDS partook in the competition by entering a team of 12 into the Touch Rugby Competition.

On Friday of last week through to Saturday afternoon JDS Australia held its inaugural Staff Retreat at the Nepean Country Club, just outside of Rosebud on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Held over two days on a ‘live-in’ basis, the focus of the Retreat was both professional development and social interaction.
