Using the Quality Center 9.2 Dashboard

This hands-on course covers the features of the Quality Center 9.2 Dashboard. This course explains how to extract information from your Quality Center projects to create and view charts and graphs in the Dashboard. The charts and graphs enable you to make cross-project comparisons.


QuickTest Pro

QuickTest Professional 9.5 Suite

Duration: 5 days

In this course suite, students will use QuickTest Professional's keyword-driven, point-and-click graphical user interface to create and enhance basic automated test scripts. From there, they will use VBScript code in the Expert View to expand functional testing capabilities and customize test scripts. Troubleshooting features, review questions and hands-on exercises will be used to help ensure student success.

This core course provides a comprehensive understanding of using QuickTest Professional 9.5 as an automated functional testing tool for different environments. You will use QuickTest Professional's graphical point and click interface to record and play back tests, add synchronization points and verification steps, and create multiple action tests. You will build upon fundamental topics by using debug tools to troubleshoot tests and use additional checkpoints and product options to broaden the scope of business processes that can be automated. Once tests are created, you will discover and correct common record and play back problems. All topics are supported by hands-on exercises based on real-life examples.


Advanced QuickTest Professional 9.5

Take your functional test automation skills to the next level by learning to use the Expert View in QuickTest Professional. Through discussions and hands-on exercises, you will learn to create steps that work with dynamic objects and data, use VBScript conditional and looping statements to control the flow of your tests and components, and use Data Table methods and database connection objects to retrieve external data.


BPT

Business Process Testing 9.2 for the Subject Matter Expert

This entry-level, training provides the Subject Matter Expert with a workflow of tasks to follow in order to successfully implement a Business Process Testing solution in a Quality Center environment. Fundamental concepts, terminology and best practices will be presented. These basic concepts and procedures are reinforced by review questions and hands-on labs.


Business Process Testing 9.2 for Automation Engineer

This introductory course provides an in-depth examination of the role of the Automation Engineer in a Business Process Testing (BPT) environment. You will learn the process of creating BPT components and tests using both QuickTest Professional and QualityCenter. You will also study how to create and manage BPT application areas, object repositories, keywords, functions and scripted components. Best practices for the implementation of BPT automation are stressed throughout the course. All topics are supported by hands-on exercises designed to provide you with the ability to successfully automate using the BPT methodology.


Service Test

Using Service Test 9.0

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of using Service Test 9.0 for creating scripts, with a focus on SOA and Web Service tests. The scripts act like virtual users, allowing you to emulate real-life situations. You can use Service Test to develop a script by recording a user performing typical business processes, or you can generate automatic scripts that address your testing requirements.

Using Service Test, you can check your script's functionality using the built-in validation tools and reports. By incorporating scripts into LoadRunner, HP's load testing tool, you can check your service's performance under load.

Service Test integrates with Quality Center, HP's tool for advanced test management. Using all of Quality Center's capabilities, you can arrange your services and tests in a repository. You can create test plans, set requirements, and track defects for your Web Services.


QAInspect

Introduction to QAInspect 5.1

This class is targeted at quality assurance professionals responsible for performing the day-to-day tasks associated with evaluating security vulnerabilities in web applications. Students learn how to configure and execute automated web application assessments, create login and web macros, configure scan settings and policies to meet testing requirements, and generate reports using QAInspect. The class consists of lecture and hands-on lab exercises.

The goal of the QA Inspect for Quality Center course is to create awareness of application security and enable users of QA Inspect to effectively perform web application assessments using QA Inspect for Quality Center.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

- Execute automated Web Application Assessments.

- Execute authenticated, comprehensive and business logic Web Application Assessments.

- Configure scan settings to meet testing requirements.

- Create Web Macros using the Web Macro Recorder.

- Create Login Macros using the Web Macro Recorder.

WebInspect

Web Application Security Assessment Using WebInspect 7

The goal of the Web Application Security Assessment course is to create awareness of application security and enable users of WebInspect to effectively perform web application assessments using WebInspect and the WebInspect Toolkit. In addition to the basic WebInspect training component, this course addresses manual assessment techniques using WebInspect and the WebInspect Toolkit including the HTTP Editor, Web Proxy, SQL Injector, and the SPI Cookie Cruncher. Appropriate and effective use of these tools is required to validate and test vulnerabilities found in most assessments.


Web Application Security Assessment Using WebInspect 7 and AMP 3.5

The goal of this course is to create awareness of application security and enable users of Assessment Management Platform (AMP) to manage the security of their web applications across the entire enterprise. Defining specific roles, and assigning permissions to each will allow for segmenting of responsibilities to each group. Scheduling scans, reports and allocating scanning resources through the AMP Console will optimize the efficiency and results of scans. In addition, WebInspect will be explored in depth to perform web application assessments using a myriad of different settings and scenarios. Fundamentals of LoadRunner 9.0

LoadRunner is an automated load testing tool that allows you to test your application before, during, and after deployment. This course is designed to give you a firm foundation in basic load testing tasks. The LoadRunner Controller and Analysis will be covered in this course. You will create and run load test scenarios using the Controller. The Analysis is used to analyse load test results. You will learn to work with the graphs to display data after a test is run. All topics are supported by hands-on labs designed to provide you with the knowledge necessary to load test your system using LoadRunner.


VuGen 9.0 Scripting for the Web

The Virtual User Generator (VuGen) is a scripting tool used to record and run user actions on the application to the load tested. This course focuses on planning, creating, and enhancing Virtual User (Vuser) scripts using VuGen in the Web environment. LoadRunner 9.0 Hands-On Lab

This Hands-on Lab is designed to provide comprehensive understanding of concepts from the Fundamentals of LoadRunner 9.0 and VuGen 9.0 Scripting for Web courses. This Hands-on Lab involves building an effective load testing script then running a load test against the Web Tours application to achieve the given performance goals. This activity will validate the newly acquired knowledge on LoadRunner and techniques for load testing Web applications.


VuGen 8.1 for SAP

This course is aimed at quality assurance and performance engineers who want to use Mercury Virtual User Generator (VuGen) 8.1 to create and enhance the testing of SAP 6.4–based applications. The course introduces learners to VuGen 8.1 and explains how they can use it to create VuGen scripts. In addition, the course enables learners to create and enhance VuGen scripts that emulate the behavior of actual users of SAP-based applications.

They will also learn how to interpret analysis graphs and achieve set performance testing goals. The lesson topics are reinforced with structured, hands-on labs. This course introduces HP Diagnostics and teaches the ability to visualize, analyse, and ultimately improve the performance of enterprise applications. The course instructs on installation, configuration, and tuning of the Diagnostics components, how to troubleshoot the HP Diagnostics system performance, as well the use of the Diagnostics Profiler in J2EE/.NET environments. In addition to core capabilities, architecture, and navigation of Diagnostics, this course introduces techniques for performance trending and analysis of complex performance issues and bottlenecks.

UCMDB 7.5 Essentials

Universal CMDB and Discovery and Dependency Mapping. Network Node Manager

This 2-day course provides operational skills for the HP Network Node Manager (Release 7.53) product. The course is targeted to network management operators who will be responsible for using the NNM product to troubleshoot the networked environment. This includes an overview of the NNM product, key terminologies and definitions and an overview of the use of NNM in troubleshooting a networked environment. The course is approximately 50 percent lecture and 50 percent lab.


Network Node Manager 7.x for Windows and UNIX I: Essentials of Use and Administration

Learn how HP Network Node Manager (NNM) Software can be used to maximize your network’s availability and performance. In this course you will explore the operational and administrative aspects of NNM on UNIX and Windows systems. You will learn how to effectively utilize NNM in the successful management of small, medium, or large networked enterprises.


Network Node Manager 7.x II: Configuring Management of Distributed and Extended Topologies

Duration: 5 days

This 5 full day course provides the tools for you to move from Network Management Administrator to Network Management Architect. You'll learn how to design a distributed solution and implement it effectively. This course covers complete training on Extended Topology and Problem Diagnosis. The Extended Topology deployment section includes labs using an SNMP simulation package (MIMIC), which allows the product to be run in a live environment to simulate common problems that can occur during deployment and how to troubleshoot them. This course is 40 percent lecture and 60 percent hands-on.


Managing Events with HP NNM 7.x, Operations and ECS Composer Software

This advanced course focuses on the management and reduction of events detected by Network Node Manager (Unix or Windows) and Operations for Unix. It describes strategies for distributing SNMP traps between NNM and Operations management systems, and for capturing syslog events. Techniques for reducing the events seen by NNM and Operations users are studied. Labs provide hands-on practice correlating events, using ECS Composer with both NNM and Operations. This course is for those with experience using NNM or Operations as event capture and configuration tools.


Network Node Manager i-Series 8.x: Essentials

Operations Manager 8.x for Windows II (Advanced Administration)

This 5-day course is for Computer System Administrators, and others, who already have some experience with the HP Operations Manager for Windows product. Students will build on their existing knowledge of HP Operations Manager for Windows and learn how to effectively utilize advanced features such as node management, agentless environments, scripted policies and flexible management. Students will also learn to configure HP Operations Manager in secure environments, using firewalls and proxies. This course is 50% lecture and 50% hands-on labs.


Operations Manager 8.x for UNIX (Operators)

This two-day course covers the skills needed to manage systems and applications running in a heterogeneous computing environment using the HP Operations Software for UNIX 8.x product. This course is intended for Operations Operators and others who need an introductory overview of HP Operations Software. It covers specific procedures necessary to process messages originating from application errors and provides hands-on lab experience using HP Operations Software to isolate and troubleshoot problems. Emphasis is on use of the Java GUI interface.
